Stainless steel oil seal (also known as air compressor oil seal, vacuum pump oil seal, PTFE oil seal):
Suitable for reciprocating sealing of rotating or slow shaft movements. The performance indicators of stainless steel oil seals far exceed the best FKM (fluororubber) skeleton oil seals. Stainless steel oil seals were first introduced for use in the 1970s. Its purpose is to fill the gap between traditional rubber sealing rings and mechanical sealing rings. But it is limited by the material of the sealing lip, in harsh environments such as extreme temperatures, corrosive media, high surface velocity, high pressure, and lack of lubrication. Designers still need to use expensive and complex mechanical seals. Fante seals can generally replace mechanical seals in equally harsh environments, and the price is lower compared to mechanical seals.
